Hi, I'm Mary Chu, a certified Personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise. I'm dedicated to helping people achieve their fitness goals and embrace healthier, more confident lives. I specialize in strength training, improving balance and posture, nutritional coaching, and weight loss coaching, and have had the privilege of working with clients from all walks of life and fitness levels.

My passion for fitness stems from wanting to be a good role model for my two boys and wanting to travel the world, and it's driven my commitment to creating personalized, results-driven training programs tailored to your unique goals, abilities, and lifestyle. To me, fitness isn't just about physical changes - it's about building strength, resilience, and confidence that extend far beyond the gym. 

My approach is all about balance and sustainability. In fact, if you look at my logo, the dumbbell symbolizes strength and the stability ball symbolizes balance. My philosophy on fitness and on life in general is being a strong and balanced individual both literally and figuratively! I strive to create a motivating and supportive environment where you feel empowered to push your limits and celebrate every step of progress. Whether you're looking to build muscle, lose weight, gain strength, or simply feel better overall, I'm here to provide expert guidance, encouragement, and accountability every step of the way.

When I'm not training, you'll find me doing some type of physical activity outdoors - whether that be hiking, running, or riding my bike. Fitness is more than my profession - it's a way of life, and I'm excited to share that passion with you.

This is the heart of what I love to do - teaching people how to exercise the right way and to have fun while doing it! You will get a challenging workout that is tailored to your fitness goals. I will show you how to correctly perform each exercise safely and help guide your form so that you get the maximum benefit from every single rep!

Weight Loss Coaching

Weight loss coaching is a combination of personal training and nutrition coaching. In addition, I will also assign you daily fitness goals. By combining exercise and proper nutrition, I will teach you how to reach your weight loss goal in a safe and sustainable manner. This is not a quick fix and there are no gimmicks here. Losing weight is a combination of habit and lifestyle changes. I will be there to show you what you need to do and remind you that you are capable and deserving of living a healthy lifestyle!

Creating Customized Workouts

This is a great option for those who are looking for new exercise ideas, who don't know what to do when they go to the gym, or who are looking for a workout program that targets specific areas they want to focus on. I will create and deliver customized workouts for you to do using whatever equipment you have available via an easy-to-follow app. There will be video and/or pictorial demonstrations to teach you. I will assign you the weights, reps, sets, and the rest time so all you have to do is just follow along!

Nutrition Coaching
(online or in-person)

Eating healthy can be a real challenge when we are presented with so many options, not to mention all the undesirable habits we have picked up along the way, such as using food to cope with stress and boredom. In the nutrition coaching program, I will meet with you once a week to provide nutrition guidance on everything from how to read and calculate macronutrients from nutrition labels and strategies for eating healthy when you're traveling. I will also give you a daily nutrition "assignment" to help you start building healthy eating habits. The nutrition coaching program is tailored to where you currently stand in terms of your nutrition habits and knowledge. I will meet you where you are and help you reach where you want to be nutrition wise!

Each day that you completed your "habit", color it in on this calendar. Then after 365 days, see how colorful your calendar is! I used this calendar for years to track the days I worked out. It was always so satisfying to see all the colors of my accomplishments at the end of the year. Don't worry if you didn't start on January 1. This is a rolling calendar so start any day and just keep going for the next 365 days!
